Video Footage Of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's British Music Experience Masterclass
April 5, 2013Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Jesse Leach of Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE held a masterclass on February 9 at the British Music Experience at the London O2 Arena. Dutkiewicz and Leach took time out from their busy promo schedule to talk to fans about the making of the band's new album, "Disarm The Descent", and how they’ve maintained such a high level of artistic achievement as a group. Check out footage of the session below.
"Disarm The Descent" is likely to sell between 40,000 and 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on April 2 via Roadrunner Records.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's self-titled album opened with 58,000 units back in July 2009 to debut at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.
2006's "As Daylight Dies" premiered with just under 60,000 copies to land at No. 32.
"Disarm The Descent" is KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's first album with Leach at the vocal helm since 2002's now-classic, genre-defining "Alive or Just Breathing". Leach returned to the band in January 2012 after a decade-long absence. The artwork for the new CD was created by bassist Mike D'Antonio.
"Disarm The Descent" was mixed by veteran British producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, ACCEPT, ARCH ENEMY and NEVERMORE.
